Career Day to Night Out

Career Day to Night Out
Leopard prints are great neutrals when done right. The gray hues in this fitted denim dress are perfect for career wear when accompanied by an elegant lightweight wrap trench coat or long well fitting sweater. The pop of red in the rounded toe suede platform is pin-up chic. My client is a sexy, vibrant, young woman at the age of 45. The gunmetal jewelry ties the main colors red, navy and gray together as if telling a story. The outfit takes my client from a meeting filled day to cocktails with her new boyfriend. He is smitten but she is no cougar!

You can go home, just bring NY with you

You can go home, just bring NY with you
I met my newest client a recent graduate from Parsons : The New School in New York on a business trip. She was from California and was heading back for a 10 year high school reunion. With a slight fashion background, she was specific with details and preferred a fashion forward right off the runway look. She wanted to bring New York home. Trina Turk’s “Ain't Misbehavin” dress portrays youthful but elegant and is positively gorgeous! The romantic white lace looks amazing over black tights or in this case, leggings. The Giuseppe Zanotti Wedge Ankle Boot is too DIE FOR! A statement look should have simple accessories and jewelry. The leopard print earrings add a welcome touch of whimsy and coordinate splendidly with the head to toe collection. Completing the look with elegant gold jewelry is a black leather clutch with gold chain detail for a touch of edge.

A growing wedding guest...
My new client came to me with a dilemma; she is 2 months pregnant but needs an outfit for a semi-casual wedding next month. Her one request? Eclectic! I went with a classic jean jacket that could carry her through the entire duration of her pregnancy. The cut pulls her torso in providing a slim silhouette to her growing frame. The strapless gauze Elizabeth and James dress with pleated front overlay will work for her after the baby comes for any event; the peach color compliments her skin tone. Always fresh with new fashions, I found the entire ensemble on Piperlime.com. The snake embossed BCBG MAX AZRIA sandal is stunning. The gladiator style with stacked wood heel is low enough to provide lasting for comfort without sacrificing style. A bold necklace draws the eye upward so I kept the earrings and ring less significant. The rosette on the purse? Perfection…

10 Year Rockin Reunion

10 Year Rockin Reunion
Often my clients are very creative in their own right; they have taste and an eye for fashion. The problem with my latest client is execution when it comes to a cohesive outcome. She is a part of an all girl band on the weekends. Communicating a clear vision of what she desires in her outfit, she prepares for her 10 year high school reunion. Wanting to look and feel as good as she does on stage, translates into not sacrificing her love for chic fashion. The Elizabeth and James jersey knit-spandex blend strapless dress is the perfect piece to construct from. Leather, cuffed platform sandals with detailed covered buttons that line the heel, emulate rocker chic. Hoop earrings in silver coordinate with the resin daisy pendant and stretch beaded bracelet in black, both Marc Jacobs. The leather clutch maintains the tough rocker chic… Outcome? Collectively feminine and ultimately cool!

Simply Chic Wedding Guest

Simply Chic Wedding Guest
My client was invited to her dear friend’s wedding. She is a flip flop, t-shirt and sweats kind of girl. I wanted to bring her an up to date look to show her that smart fashion is fun and necessary. I decided to keep the dress simple. Pairing the navy halter dress with a pair of Elizabeth and James platform heels in a brilliant hue is an unanticipated but well received partnership. The look is classically appealing but because of the striking heel, it’s a little rock and roll! The fun Alexis Hudson clutch bonds the dress and shoes collectively leaving little wiggle room in way of jewelry. I kept jewelry to a minimum by choosing Kate Spade stud earrings in a navy and gold as well as stackable gold rings. An organized array of smart style that is sure to change my client’s view about sweats!

Day to Old Hollywood Glamour Night

Day to Old Hollywood Glamour Night
Day to night looks is a common request for me. Often times the pieces have to work with the wardrobe that my client already has or needs to work for multiple events. Here is an ensemble that does just that. The dress is so elegant on its own, perfect for an evening wedding or a semi-formal affair, this cross neck silk dress makes the ideal background to a fitted blazer and scarf, while the leather bootie from L.A.M.B. adds a touch of edgy glamour. Remove the jacket and scarf (to be used as a shoulder wrap) in the evening and you just stole the heart of your date. The dress is flattering on all body types. My inspiration was Audrey Hepburn and old Hollywood. The gold bangle and Marc Jacobs stud earrings keep her jewelry from looking overdone. The client is the main accessory so I kept it effortless.

Preppy Chic makes its way back to school

Preppy Chic makes its way back to school
Ten years since her last day of high school, my client has hired me to help her create a look to showcase her love for fashion to wear to her reunion. Moved by the women of Milan on a recent trip, she respected their attention to detail, simple elegance, and flare for the unusual but most important their love of life. Un- able to achieve the look on her own, she asked me to create a Milan inspired preppy chic “American” version. The long boyfriend blazer in horizontal black and white stripes is the focus. Wedges by Pour La Victoire are particularly chic… The short lace skirt is the perfect companion to the tucked in zip back tank. Pearls say preppy but by adding them in a dramatic necklace with the skull earrings makes the look fashion forward. European women love the unexpected, this is achieved by the red purse.
